The TopNetTricks website is developed by Andre Roberge. Andre has been a network consultant for over 25 years.
I started out supporting X.25 networks and moved to Novell LAN administration. That’s when it hit me that this area offered an incredible potential to improve the quality of all our lives and that there would be opportunities well into the future.
I hitched up to the Internet bandwagon early. Every year the challenges grow exponentially like you won’t find in any other business. Spending a lot of personal time retraining just so you don’t fall behind is a requirement. As Cisco networking instructor for North America I got to meet lots of very smart people with lots of very tricky problems in a very short time. The classroom became the incubator for a budding consulting practice. As Senior Network Architect for a major Internet Service Provider I led my engineering teams through countless key strategic product initiatives and bleeding edge projects.
High-pressure, long hours, and lots of contingency planning eventually led me to look for a simpler, healthier life-style where I could be with my family here in Toronto and do what I enjoy most: work with technology and make my experience accessible to everyone.
All content comes from me, as well as the layouts, formatting, marketing, research and some of the graphic work. My wife, who is more knowledgeable than me in Web Publishing has been giving me invaluable assistance and advice. Even my son pitches in some of the graphics.
In the consulting world, a key reason for my teams’ successes was peer-reviews. I am committed to that approach on this website. I view all subscribers as my peers and welcome all your input and questions. Your success relies on your feedback and that is what will keep this site going. So please be generous in your comments and questions. They are most appreciated.
I hope you enjoy this website as much as I enjoy putting it together. And I’m looking forward to meeting all of you.
